First Prez and Youth Ministry

In October, Alan Seim tendered his resignation as our youth director as of November 15th after two years of friendship, mentoring and enjoyment with our junior and senior high students. Alan is moving on to pursue his career in counseling. He already holds a Masters in Social Work and will continue toward licensure as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Pastor Sue, Elder Andrea Johnson, and Deacon Missy Gillespie were asked to post the position opening and conduct interviews. There were 5 applicants, 4 of whom were interviewed. It was with strong confidence and recommendation that they offered the job to Mike Imperiale (Jr.).

Mike is a graduate of InterMountain Christian High School, did a full-time internship in youth ministry with Pastor Andy Marshall in 2003-04 at Salt Lake Evangelical Free, took a course in youth ministry at Salt Lake Seminary, and studied "Experiential Education" at the University of Utah. Mike spent this past year as a full-time guide with Sierra Wilderness Seminars based at Mt. Shasta in northern California. With his dad as pastor and head of staff, Mike and the yourth ministry will come under the pastoral supervision of the Assocaite Pastor of Family Ministry. He will of course enjoy working closely with Pastor Mike as well.

We welcome Mike (Jr.) as our new youth director. Mike will be in touch with parents and kids as they all make plans together for weekly and monthly activites with Bible studies, service projects, fellowship activities and get togethers.
